An applicant who has successfully passed the secondary school-leaving exam and met the prescribed requirements in the admittance proceedings can be admitted for study of Bachelor study disciplines. The applicant must hand over (in person or by mail) the officially certified copy of the school-leaving certificate to the Study Department of ZSF JU.
The applicants for study in subsequent Master program shall complete the information of graduation from a university, enclose an officially certified copy of university diploma and the document of the examinations passed, stating the average marks for the individual years of the Bachelor study, the results of the state final examination, including confirmation of the accuracy of the data by the university. The marks from the secondary school are not to be completed.
If the application has formal defects, the Faculty shall return it to the applicant for correction and completion. If the applicant has not eliminated the defects by the fixed deadline, the applicant has not met the basic condition for admission.
Any applicant who has not paid the fee fixed according to § 58 par. 1 of the Act and article 12 of the Statute by the fixed deadline in defined form (money order or duly documented bank transfer) has not met the basic condition for admission.

1. The admission examinations in all disciplines are made in form of written tests. The results of the tests are scored, one point for one correct answer. The Bachelor study discipline of Health care rescuer constitutes an exception; the applicants for it shall pass also the talent examination; the Bachelor study discipline of Special pedagogy - Education constitutes an exception too; the applicants for it shall pass both written and oral examination.
2. The applicants will be listed by computer downwardly according to the score achieved. According to that sequence, the applicants shall be admitted until the preset capacity of the admitted number of applicants is filled.
1. Bachelor study disciplines:
Rehabilitation – psycho-social care for handicapped children, adults and seniors, General nurse, Midwife, Physiotherapy, Public health protection
- written test of human biology in extent of subject matter of grammar school (50 questions) and of general level of information including current issues of health and social sphere (50 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
Radiological assistant
- written test of biology – general biology and human biology in extent of subject matter of grammar school (40 questions), written test of general level of information including health care issues (30 questions), written test of physics in extent of subject mater of grammar school (30 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
The applicants can be admitted without admission examinations on the base of the study results of secondary school, if their total average marks at the secondary school in all subjects was better than or equal to 2,00 and at the same time the average marks of physics were better than or equal to 2,00.
Health care laboratory technician
- written test of human biology in extent of subject matter of grammar school (40 questions), written test of chemistry (30 questions) and written test of general level of information (30 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
Health care rescuer
- the talent examination of physical education takes one day and is only practical. It examines the level of movement preconditions and some skills needed for the study of the selected discipline. Only applicants who have submitted certificate of health eligibility shall be allowed to perform the practical admission examination of physical education.
The performance in each sport discipline shall be scored by scales ranging from 0 to 10 points. The talent examination includes the following sport disciplines: swimming: 100 m with time measured (starting dive not compulsory) and athletics (running).
Written test of human biology in extent of subject matter of grammar school (50 questions), written test of general level of information including health care issues (50 questions). The applicant can acquire 130 points at the maximum.
Nutrition therapist
- written test of human biology in extent of subject matter of grammar school (50 questions), written test of chemistry (30 questions).
The applicant can acquire 80 points at the maximum.
Protection of population with focus on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear noxae and explosives
- written test of human biology in extent of subject matter of grammar school (25 questions), written test of chemistry (25 questions) and written test of physics in extent of subject matter of grammar school (25 questions)
The applicant can acquire 75 points at the maximum.
The applicants can be admitted without admission examinations on the base of the study results of secondary school, if their total average marks at the secondary school in all subjects was better than or equal to 2,00 and at the same time the average marks of physics were better than or equal to 2,00.
Social work in public administration
- written test with focus on knowledge of history, fundamentals of social sciences (law, sociology, philosophy, psychology, economy), information technologies in extent of subject matter taught at secondary schools including current issues of social area (100 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
Special pedagogy – education
- the admission proceedings consist of two rounds. round I – written test of general knowledge (60 questions). round II – oral interview: motivation for study, previous practical experience in the discipline, fundamentals of social sciences. 100 most successful applicants from round I shall pass to round II.
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum (60 in test, 40 in oral interview).
2. Subsequent Master study disciplines:
Rehabilitation – psychosocial care for handicapped children, adults and seniors – subsequent Master study
- written test of theories and methods of social work (50 questions), written test of fundamentals of health care disciplines (50 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
Applicants who have successfully graduated from Bachelor study in the discipline of Rehabilitation – psychosocial care for handicapped children, adults and seniors or from related Bachelor disciplines, i.e. Bachelor disciplines with health and social care focus or Bachelor disciplines with social focus.
Nursing in selected clinical disciplines – subsequent Master study
- written test of the following subjects:
- module of nursing care in internal medicine: theory of nursing (50 questions) and nursing in internal disciplines (50 questions);
- module of nursing care in surgery: theory of nursing (50 questions) and nursing in surgical disciplines (50 questions);
- module of nursing care in pediatrics: theory of nursing (50 questions) and nursing in pediatrics (50 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
Applicants who have successfully graduated from Bachelor study in the study discipline of General nurse can be admitted to study.
Expert worker in public health protection – subsequent Master study
- written test of the following subjects: epidemiology (40 questions), environment hygiene (30 questions), work hygiene (30 questions).
The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
Applicants who have successfully graduated from Bachelor study in the study discipline of Public health protection can be admitted to study in the subsequent Master study discipline.
Expert worker in public health protection – subsequent Master study
- written test of integrated rescue system (50 questions) and radiotoxicology (50 questions). The applicant can acquire 100 points at the maximum.
The study in individual study disciplines shall be opened in the academic year 2012/2013 only if at least 15 admitted applicants enrol and enter to study. Otherwise, the specific study discipline shall not be opened and the Faculty shall offer the admitted applicants study in similar study discipline.
The sequence of applicants and their results achieved shall be made public on the official board in the Faculty building and at the Faculty websites from 4.7.2012.
According to § 50 par. 6, the applicant shall have the right to take a look into his or her materials that have significance for the decision about his or her admission or non-admission for study at the Study Department of the Faculty on 26/6/2012 from 8,00 to 11,00 o’clock and from 13,00 to 15,00 o’clock.
The applicant shall have the right to ask the Dean of the Faculty to review the decision. Such application is to be submitted in a term of 30 days from the day of its delivery. The Dean can comply with the application and change his decision; otherwise he shall pass it to the Rector for decision. The Rector shall change the Dean’s decision that was issued in contradiction with the law, with an internal regulation of the university or with the conditions fixed according to § 49 par. 1 and 3 of Act No. 111/98 Coll. Otherwise he shall refuse the application and confirm the original Dean’s decision.

If any applications and annexes have any formal defects, they will be returned to the applicants for adaptation or completion. If the applicant has not eliminated the defects by the fixed deadline, the applicant has not met the basic condition for admission.
- The applicants who have sent all the materials required shall be integrated into the admission proceedings. The admission proceedings shall include assessment of all materials sent, to be performed by the assessment and admission commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. The applicant can acquire 50 points at the maximum (20 from motivation letter, 30 from written task – essay).
- The assessment and admission commission shall make a list of order of the applicants suggested to be admitted for study. The admission of the applicant shall be decided by the Dean on the base of the suggestion of the admission commission within 8 days from the admission proceedings; the Dean shall inform the applicants of the result according to § 50 par. 5 of Act No. 111/98 Coll. of universities in written within 30 days.
Doctoral study
- Graduates from Master study program of nursing or related disciplines with focus on health care can apply for study in the study program of Nursing.
- Graduates from Master study programs whose publication activity and focus of the dissertation is in direct relationship to the study program of Rehabilitation can apply for study in the study program of Rehabilitation.
- 3. The application ("Application for Doctoral study" form) can be picked up in the Office for Science and Research, ZSF JU, Jírovcova 24, 370 04 České Budějovice, phone 389 037 857. The following documents must be enclosed to the completed application form:
- officially certified copy of the certificate of successful conclusion of university study,
- officially certified copy of passed state examination of a foreign language (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish); if the applicant does not hold such document, the applicant shall make a language examination on the day of the admission interview,
- curriculum,
- survey of history of professional activity,
- list of published works,
- working outline of the topic and the contents of the Doctoral thesis (name of thesis, main research issue, research methods and research set, references) according to the model on www.zsf.jcu.cz/research/doktorske-studium/formulare-ke-stazeni/ - „Basic propositions of the dissertation“; the topics of the dissertations for the study programs of Nursing and Rehabilitation are published at the Faculty websites,
- suggestion of the instructor and the instructor’s consent.
- To be allowed to participate in the admission proceedings, the applicant must pay the administration fee amounting to 500,- CZK. The administration fee can be remitted to the account No. 104725778/0300 of ČSOB in České Budějovice, constant symbol 0308, variable symbol 6020107, specific symbol – the applicant’s birth number without slash.
Conditions for admission to Doctoral program
- The condition of admission to study in the Doctoral program is successful passing of the admission examination.
- The admission examination shall take place in form of oral interview in which the applicant’s professional knowledge and preparedness to independent scientific work in the selected discipline shall be examined.
- The interview shall include professional debate over the submitted dissertation project.
- The foreign language (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish) knowledge shall be evaluated by written test and interview, unless the applicant has submitted a document of passing of state examination of foreign language.
- In conclusion of the admission examinations, the Examination Commission shall prepare the list of applicants suggested for admission to study after assessment of the demandingness and branch adequacy of all projects submitted and on the base of the results of the oral interviews.
- The admission of the applicant shall be decided by the Dean on the base of the suggestion of the Examination Commission within 8 days from the admission examination; the Dean shall inform the applicants of the result of the admission proceedings according to § 50 par. 5 of Act No. 111/1998 Sb., on universities, as amended, in written within 30 days.
- The Dean can allow examination on substitutive date to an applicant who has asked for it in written before the fixed date of pursuance of examination on due date for serious and documented reasons. The applicant’s participation in another admission examination shall not be considered serious reason.
