Nutrition therapist

 

The Bachelor study takes three years and upon graduating from it, the graduates get the authorization to perform health-care job with the consent of the Czech Ministry of Health. The main motive to prepare this type of qualification study in the discipline of Nutrition therapist was to build an educational program comparable with the European Union countries. The prepared study program respects also the relevant legislative regulations of the Czech Republic. The main base to draw up the study plan consisted in the output knowledge and skills, so called framework competence criteria set by the decree and the standards for the profession of nutrition therapist. The goal of the study discipline is to prepare professionals to perform in qualified manner the activities of nutrition therapist in the area of protection and support of public health of all age groups. This care is aimed at supporting, strengthening and maintaining health, at prevention of origination of diseases, at prevention of complications and deaths that can be prevented.

The graduates from this study disciplines will be able, based on the knowledge acquired in specific theoretical disciplines, in medical and humane sciences and skills acquired in professional clinical practice, to diagnose basic nutritional problems and to correct them by the proposed diet regime while considering the patient's rights, based on their knowledge of ethical and legal aspects of their work, in order not to damage the patient's health.

The graduates will be able to make independent decisions in the area of nutrition and to substantiate, defend and account personally for their decisions.

The graduates will be also prepared for management work and for further lifelong education.

The graduates will be able to work in the area of clinical nutrition, both in health care and in spa and social facilities.
