Doctoral students in nursing from the V4 countries will come to the conference organized by FHSS USB
The second year of the international conference, which aims to support doctoral students in nursing, will be organized by our faculty from Thursday to Friday, 9-10 September 2021. There will be 32 participants, all active doctoral students from the Visegrád Four (V4) countries – the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. They will present papers focused on surgery, gynaecology, cardiology, and internal medicine, assessment of geriatric syndromes, use of study methods or validation, and practical experience with assessment tools.
It is essential for this event to be held face-to-face, unlike other conferences which were held on-line during the pandemic. "The aim is networking among participants, finding out what topics their colleagues are dealing with, and establishing collaboration with each other," said Prof. Valérie Tóthová, PhD, Vice-Dean for Science and Research and Director of the Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Emergency Care at FHSS USB.
The main part of the conference will take place on the first day, mostly in English, but it will also include a lecture and a poster section in Czech in Theatre E. The next day, an expert workshop led by Prof. Dr. Betlehem József, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pécs, Hungary is scheduled. One of the participants is Dr. Bálint Bánfai from the same university. Stress will be placed on health literacy, specifically the importance of first aid knowledge to prevent premature deaths – also in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
"Students have the opportunity to present their upcoming or completed projects, which are judged by a panel of experts. This is not a classical conference where only the results of research solutions are presented. The purpose is to support planned or already completed projects with the opinions of the expert committee," explained Mgr. Jan Neugebauer, a Ph.D. student from the Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Emergency Care at FHSS USB.
