Science and research
The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences focuses on education, research and development in the area of health and its interconnection with the social sphere. Its aim is to interconnect the basic research with applied research, i. e. the research examines not "only" the reality surrounding us, but also the way of transferring the findings into practice. The results of scientific activities are reflected in publications, conferences, workshops, as well as in long-term cooperation with the non-profit and the governmental sector oriented towards the direct work with people.
For a long time, the faculty has been successfully implementing research projects recorded in the Central Project Database (CPD) and thus brings a number of important publications that have to be documented for the guaranty of study courses and subjects. Since 2000, these have been projects accepted by e. g. the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (the COST projects – Cooperation on Scientific and Technical Research) or by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (Healthcare Research Agency), as well as projects funded by the Grant agency of the Czech Republic and other donors. Scientific and research outcomes are published and sent to the Register of Outcome Information (ROI).
