Our faculty will organize an inspirational international conference on the topic of Modern Trends in Elderly Care
The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the University of South Bohemia has decided to hold an international conference on the topic of “Modern Trends in Elderly Care – Challenges for the 21st century.” The topic is a response to global problems regarding elderly care, which has recently become a topical theme worldwide. The conference will be held on October 13 and 14, 2020 in the Clarion Congress Hotel in České Budějovice. Registration for the event is already open (latest booking time is September 30, 2020).
Our faculty deals with this topic globally and has done so for a long time. The organizing team from the Institute of Social and Special-paedagogical Sciences of FHHS USB sates: ”Population ageing is a key subject that intervenes in all areas of life for people in the Czech Republic. It is also the key topic which has been discussed on the individual, regional, national and international level,” The organizers are expecting hundreds of professional participants who have experience with elderly care – whether they be representatives of institutions, cities, municipalities or educational organizations. The official languages will be Czech, Slovak and English. Speeches by foreign guests will be translated by an interpreter.
The key topics are new trends and examples of good practice in elderly care with respect to the involvement of multidisciplinary teams — in both the Czech Republic and selected European states. The goal of this conference is to promote and expand the development of new trends and innovative processes in elderly care, and thereby contribute to a higher quality of services provided and a higher quality of seniors’ life. This international event is co-funded with state support from the Technological agency of the Czech Republic (TAČR) within the project Model of elderly care in care homes in the concept of three-stage housing. Detailed information about the conference (in particular registration, fees and programme) can be found on the website for this event – see Annex and the link below.
