About Social Work Course
Community social work is an important approach that requires cooperation, including coordination. Community social worker is a key person in practice, who provides the necessary counseling and services in the home environment of the client and his/her surroundings (community). It is evident that there is a high level of community social work abroad (especially the USA - the cradle of community work, England, Finland (Environmental Social Work), etc.). Its coordination leads on one hand to significant prevention of social exclusion of various groups of the population (minorities, elderly, mothers on parental leave, etc.) and on the other hand to a significant systemic economic
Aim:
- introduce complex information about community social work among different nations and different target groups,
- introduce methods and techniques of social work which are used with different target groups living in communities,
- get knowledge about vulnerable groups and specifics of community social work according different clients´ needs,
- bring international knowledge about community social work and enable fruitful discussion concerning the topic.
Outcomes:
Deeper understanding and comparison of different approaches in community social work among participating countries and also being trained in specific social work methodology (methods and techniques) which can be inspiring for future and current social workers in different countries.

Community Work and Community Development
Eva Huszti (Hungary)
The goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge about the community work, community development in general and in Hungary. The course will cover topics related to the community work as a social work intervention method, community development as a process.
Human Trafficking and the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children

Current trends in human trafficking are explored with a focus on online sexual exploitation of children. Victim/survivors of online sexual exploitation present clinical issues that are different from traditional victim/survivors of child abuse and neglect. Because of the unique nature of victimization that takes place in the online sexual exploitation of children, traditional social work prevention and treatment practices may need to be changed in order to be effective. Similarly, nurses and other health care workers should be made aware of signs of human trafficking in emergency departments and other health care settings.
Social Services for the Elderly in a Context Community Social Work

The long-term care for clients with disabilities is divided into formal and informal. Informal care is provided by the family. The reasons for the increase in informal care for clients in Czech society are more and the goal is to saturate the self-reliance of clients of all ages in securing their basic life activities and instrumental activities. One family member takes care of a family member. Most often, informal caregivers are women - their children. These are often so-called primary caregivers.
According to the MPSV, informal caregivers is in the Czech Republic are about 300,000. This care is also very financially demanding and unrealizable without state support. There is a need for social policy instruments that support clients and caregivers.
In general, social policy instruments can be divided into financial (insurance and non-insurance benefits) and services that are divided into social services and health services.
Strategy in Inclusive Volunteering

The goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge in the area of inclusive volunteering and be able to find a strategy for the implementation of inclusive volunteering. The course will be divided into two parts. The first part will focus on the introduction of the phenomenon of inclusive volunteering. We will try to answer questions such as - What is inclusive volunteering?; Where is the difference between inclusive volunteering and common volunteering?; What does it mean to be a volunteer in inclusive volunteering?; and so on. The second part will be concentrated on strategies of using inclusive volunteering in practice. In this section, we will work in small groups. Each group will have one volunteering organization with different management and goal. During this part, we will try to implement inclusive volunteering into a specific organization. Through this activity, the participants will get knowledge about inclusive volunteering and will get basic tools for implementation into practice.
Project management in Community Social Work

The goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge of application of project management in the social sphere. The course will cover topics related to specification of project management in the social sphere.
The importance of non-profit organizations working with children and youth in their free time in the community
Renata Švestková (CR)
The goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge of volunteer activities carried out by non-governmental non-profit organizations working with children and youth in their free time.
The course will cover topics related to:
- description of activities of associations working with children and youth,
- Description of the education of volunteers of these associations,
- ways of working with children and youth in these associations.
Community Work with Roma Minority

The main goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge about Roma minority and practical case example of community work with this marginalized group.
The course will cover topics related to Roma minority like the structures of the Roma coexistence (família, fajta, komunita), socially excluded localities. Students will be introduced to the main differences between social work and community social work with the Roma and the opportunities of cooperation of the community worker with the social worker, on delimitation of competences and case conference.
Community Social Work with Substance-Abusing People

The main goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge about community social work with substance-abusing people in Czech Republic with a focus on therapeutic communities.
The course will cover topics related to substance abuse, stages of addiction and treatment. Students will be introduced to community social work with substance-abusing people, therapeutic communities and with the multidisciplinary team, which is involved in the therapeutic community in addiction treatment.
Social Determinants of Health and Migration: task for Community Care

This course will bring information and discussion about migration and health – in terms of Social determinants of health and possibilities of successful integration. Social work methodology oriented to integration in community will be introduced and trained via discussion, role-play and sharing experiences.
Community Care of Clients with Psychiatric Diagnosis

The goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge of community social work with clients with psychiatric disease.
The course will cover topics related to:
- ways of social work with clients with psychiatric diagnosis,
- description of health and social services for people suffering from psychiatric diseases,
- description of the role, the contents and agenda of social work, of the legal norms, of ethic in social work, of issues of involuntary hospitalizations, of eligibility to legal act.
